Sendingnuus Madagaskar: Lynette skryf vir ons oor die week 22 September 2024

Joshua Generation School, Lovako School and Royal Rangers are all under way after the school holiday.

Kids and Discovery Rangers meet every Wednesday afternoon.  The Discoveries are a big group this year and they are packed like sardines into the classroom where we meet for prayer and worship before they disperse into their individual patrols.  We are studying the Bible book of Ezra for the next five weeks and for the skills merit, they are learning all about the birds of Madagascar.

The Adventure and Expedition groups meet on Saturday afternoons and we had a full house yesterday.  There was also great sadness as Hollande Hérine, one of the Adventure Rangers lost her father a week ago in an accident.  She received our Ranger of the Year award last year.  Her father was a good man and provided for his family.  In this culture of absent and uncaring fathers, the loss is felt even more.

We had some snacks to start the Ranger year.  Larice and Sitraka’s baby girl, Marisika, experienced her first Ranger meeting.

Euphrasie and I will head out to Lovako School in Russian Bay on Tuesday.  It will just be a day trip, but we want to go to encourage the teachers and help them set up for the new school year.

We are very excited to announce that there are two German volunteers who want to spend four months with us from January 2025.  Annika and Anne have just finished their final year of school in Germany and they are also part of the Royal Rangers.  We look forward to welcome them.  Please pray for them as they prepare for this great adventure.  We have to go with a tourist visa, because the other options require too much paper work and will cost a great deal.

Enjoy these colourful flowers from our garden that bloom profusely despite the dry season.

Have a blessed week.
