Madagaskar: Lynette se weeklikse nuusflits: Die WEEK – 23/07/2023

I can hardly believe that it has been almost a month since the end of the school year. I have been in ‘sorting out’ mode as Dries says. Last week we finally emptied our container which we had brought with us when we first came to Madagascar. Long overdue you might say. There was not much of worth in the container, but as we were not using it and wanted to give it to Pastor Jean-Charles of the FJKM church, we jumped in and got it done.

The floors of the two classrooms have been prepared and next week we’ll buy sand, stone and cement and get the job done.

I include some images of the last two days of the camp. I know that it is very late, but enjoy them nevertheless.

I had the job of throwing water at the kids when they reached the finish line of the obstacle course, because the balloons thst we had bought here, could not hold water.

Collecting rubbish from the beach. All of it plastic!

I pretended to be the sea and brought them a ‘gift’ of some of the rubbish from the beach. I had old shoes, fishing nets, hats, plastic bottles wrapped around me. I asked them why they throw the stuff in the sea, because the ocean had no need of dirty nappies and plastic ropes. They could not believe it when I even put some of the shoes on and tried to walk. It was a good teaching moment.

The last Bible lesson focused on witnessing anf Larisdiana had her group practising.

Have a blessed week.
