Sendingnuus: Madagaskar -The Week 15 June 2025

Friday was the last day of the 2024/2025 school year. It was a busy final week; exams as well as the national CéPe exam of the Grade 5’s, books had to be packed away and some classrooms cleared for work in August so that we’ll be ready with a brand new pre-school when school starts again at the beginning of September.

The Royal Ranger Day Camp was such a blessing! The theme was the seven ‘I am …’ statements of Jesus in the Book of John. We managed to study these statements thoroughly and the young people had the opportunity to personally examine their lives. As Euphrasie remarked at the end of the day, ‘A lot to think about during the holiday.’ We believe that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in their hearts.

Masilaza and Michel received the Ranger of the Year awards. This means that they attended faithfully during the year. Michel showed great promise as Junior Leader this year. Randria, his father, joined us for the day and was very proud of his son’s achievement.

There were also some games to strengthen the teaching and the ‘stay connected’ game was the favourite. Team members had to complete different tasks while never letting go of each other. This proved to be quite challenging and every time that they let go of each other, they had to start over. Jesus said in John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” As Christians, we need to stay connected to Jesus, because there is no alternative to cope with what happens in our lives.

We decided to make hot dogs for lunch. We probably cannot call it proper Boerewors rolls, as the sausage would not qualify. It was nevertheless very good and enjoyed by all.

May you have a blessed week!
