Sendingnuus: Nuusflits vanaf Lynette van Madagaskar: Die week – 25/10/2026

And just like that our electricity problems have been solved! PM has finally been able to fully switch to solar energy and we are happy to be included. After almost five years of endless power problems, we are now trying to get use to the good electricity (yes, we still feel as if it is just a dream); bright lights that don’t flicker and fade, appliances that work properly and at the same time. A pretty mundane thing to start of the week’s news, but what a blessing!
The schools are closed this coming week for the mid-term break. We concluded the Ranger’s Song series with a ‘talent competition’. They were divided into four groups, representing different countries and they took it all very seriously as they practised during the week. Stephano, the new grade 4 teacher, was the presenter and as is always the case when Malagasy people have a microphone in their hands, he went all in. We had some of the leaders as the judges, Norbert handed out the medals and it was just wonderful to see how the Rangers enjoyed themselves. A very good end to the term. Please pray for Stephano as he asks a lot of questions about the Bible and faith and we can see how God is drawing him closer.
The training of the teachers who will use the Reading Rocket flashcard lessons in French from January, is progressing. At the moment we are focusing on language and presentation. Clarisse, Séverine, Ella and Marie were very nervous at the start, but I reminded them that we are all learning and that making mistakes is part of the journey. They have improved so much in a short time and I also see that they are now more aware of the benefit this program will have for the children.
Larisdiana made this visual for the classroom and I found it very appropriate for teachers and children alike. Growing in mind, body and spirit.
May you have a blessed week.
