The highlight of the week was that after almost a year, Jirama finally connected the school to the municipal water supply. Don’t let the words ‘connect’ and ‘supply’ conjure up images of water gushing and buckets overflowing. So far, we had none of that. We were expecting to be limited to have ‘supply’ at night, due to the low water pressure, but a couple of liters a week, went even beyond our usual careful optimism. What to do next? No idea, but it adds to the list of frustrations. I felt sorry for Dries who was so excited by the prospect of a full water tank and not to have to rely on the unfriendly neighbour’s well anymore.

There is no news about the valuation of the boat. In this case, we are not sure if the saying ‘no news is better than bad news’, holds up. Please continue to pray with us.
I started a Daniel series with the Adventure Rangers and my boys enjoy the ‘Dare to be a Daniel’ merit. As many of them will head on to secondary school next year, the topics to be covered are all so relevant; keeping one’s life pure, not to give in to temptation, know that God has a plan for your life and to be brave in an ungodly environment. We embarked on a how to study effectively for the Saturday Rangers as final exams are weeks away. It is heavy going as there is absolutely no help in any of their schools in that regard. I realized that we’ll have to focus more on that kind of teaching. The education system in Madagascar is worse than ever!

Every morning when I have my quiet time, there is a gecko which joins me and usually sits on my notebook or on my arm. I think the drop of honey he or she gets every morning surely has something to do with it.

Have a blessed week.
