Madagaskar sending: Die Week 30 Julie 2023

We were invited to a celebration at the FJKM church on Saturday. It was very special, because we have through the years, shared in the trials and the victories with Pastor Jean-Charles and his family. They are originally from Tana and started here with seventy members and a church building which was blown over by cyclones more than once. He had built a permanent building in less than five years and that was what we commerated yesterday, the 20th anniversary and the fact that there are now 2 200 believers. Their four children are all grown up and serve the Lord. The celebration cake had been the biggest I think this island has ever seen and the children could not tear themselves away from it. We were blessed by beautiful praise and worship and uplifting fellowship. Dries said that I just had to assure you that he did not eat that huge bowl of rice…

We were told this week that customs would not budge concerning the ridiculous valuation placed on Gabriel. We were given the option of using an ‘independent’ surveyor, which has to be someone approved by customs. Until now, we can’t even get hold of him. You see where this is going. We cannot pay what they are asking. We have less than a month to build a classroom at school before the beginning of the new school year. If we pay the tax of more than R100 000, we’ll be left with nothing for ministry or to fix the boat with. We have been told that we’ll loose our boat. Is that even possible? Please pray with us. God will make a way and we have to trust Him.

God bless!
