Madagaskar: – Lynettemada news – Concert and Picnic 2022

Apologies for Lynette not being here with the writing of the blog . . . so please bear with me. 🙂God is Faithful !!!What an emotional rollercoaster ride! It’s on a high emotional note that I end my week. It started with my coming back, the children writing exams, which escalated into the second week with the packing-up of the books and stuff for the holidays and then the concert and picnic. I somehow got the feeling which adrenaline junkies get. It was busy, or more on the hectic side.ConcertThe theme this year was “God is Faithful” and I used Jeremiah 29:11 and then verse 12 and 13 to end off my message. God has a plan and a future for those who follow and serve him.I have to say that the concert was the highlight. I even caught myself with a tear in the eye seeing how God touched lives. That is just so, so evident when you compare our kids with the rest of the village kids. Jesus truly does make the difference. Each grade had their dance to perform and all were one way or the other connected to God’s Faithfulness. Always difficult to say which one was best or better, so I will not venture there. Each one was just so nice and done enthusiastically. Then, of course the handing out of certificates. It hits one when they curtsy when receiving the award, then you know they appreciate what you’ve done in lifting them to a higher level. Teacher Yollande received her 20 year Loyalty service award. Surprisingly, some Royal Rangers that have already left school took part in the song and dance session with the high school Rangers. Their song was “Miracle” sung by Colton Dixon. I found myself becoming a celebrity posing just about with every mother and child 😉Even on the day that I handed my visa application in, Madame Chantel, the lady that does the visa stuff, proudly showed me a photo where I posed with her daughter.I found myself thinking about the slogan, “Reaching Out . . . Touching Lives”. Isn’t that our main reason for being here or even being called a Child of God?PicnicAgain, I am reminded of a song I knew as a child “We’re off to see the wild way show, never mind the weather as long as we’re together, We’re off to see the wild way show!”I could only smile, the minute the kids hit the picnic spot, it was such a feeling of freedom as they just let loose. And they literary went wild, but in a nice way. We had a huge open space for our use with groups of friends playing various games. The boys obviously focused on playing football most of the time. Some of the parents helped with the cooking of the food, it always is quite an organisation to get the food ready, fire going, stirring the rice, preparing the meat and crabs is quite a task and I take my hat off to those ladies. The teachers prepared the in-between snack, even though it only comprised of bread and juice, still quite an undertaking for so many children. Once again getting them seated and dishing up the food at lunch, went smoothly without a hitch. They were smart by using the grade 5 students as waiters.I can truly say “BRAVO!!!” for the camaraderie and team work that went into organising all.And most of all, I end off with what the children, forming a huge circle, jumping in the air shouted just before we left . . .“Thank You JESUS!!!”And yes, once again if I did not turn around and walk off, they would have caught me with another tear in the eye.

The Glory rightfully belongs to God.
