Sendingnuus – Madagaskar: The week 10 November 2024

The last two weeks were mostly spent on getting the Land Rover back on the road. That entailed waiting for the replacement parts to come from Antananarivo, removing what seemed to me most of the inside of the Land Rover, fitting the new clutch and then putting everything back. When you have to work alone, you use everything available to you to make life easier. In this case, bamboo was used to lower the gearbox. For those mechanical minds out there, this will all make sense, while to me it looked like chaos. Well, I am happy to report that the Landy is back on the road and Dries can return to the boat this coming week.

Larice and Sitraka received their Foundations Training badges this week. They have served as leaders at Royal Rangers for three years now and they have a great impact on the lives of the young people. Their children Mitsiky and Marisika join us most of the time and they are just such a good example of what a Godly family should look like. Dries share II Timothy 2:2 to encourage them.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Paul gives Timothy a clear mandate to teach and defend the truth. It emphasizes the importance of discipleship and teaching the next generation. In Sitraka and Larice we see faithful believers who will first of all model Christian behaviour in their lives and then pass on the Word of God without compromise.

I made a hanging potplant holder and the reaction of the youngest lemur made us laugh:

Is this edible?

Let’s have a look…

These seeds are too hard for my liking.

Have a blessed week.
