The Cape of storms! My first week in South Africa and spring was nowhere in sight. Thankfully, I was supplied with warm clothing and I did pack my rain jacket at the last moment before I left Nosy Be. I am grateful for the warm welcome and hospitality wherever I go.
So for the good news! Gabriel’s valuation was accepted, the tax has been paid and we can finally move on to the next step of the registration process of the boat. Dries managed to get it all done last week which I thought was quite amazing as I have been going back and forth for months. I think the agent finally got the message that we had had enough. We thank all of our faithful intercessors who stood with us during these months. Now Dries can focus on taking Gabriel out of the water and then the big repair project can get underway.
I managed to visit Ampamata before I left the island. As usual, we loaded the boat with tables and supplies to make sure the teachers had all they needed for the new school year. There are a number of new children from neighbouring villages and they are all older and have never been to school and therefore illiterate. This is always a challenge, but very rewarding to see how they flourish and how God works in their lives. Please pray with us for another teacher. Three teachers cannot take care of the little ones as well as grade 1-5.

Alice celebrated her 17th birthday with her host family in Antananarivo. We are thankful that God has been so faithful. She lives with a family that loves her and mentors her. She also thrives in the church where they serve.

Please pray for Dries as he has much work and not always enough time to finish it all.
Have a good week.
