Madagaskar: The week 26 February 2023

We usually don’t organise outdoor activities for the school and the Rangers during the rainy season, but we thought that it was time for a picnic with the Expedition and Adventure groups on Saturday. Dries transported all the stuff with the Land Rover and the rest of us walked. We had to trudge through the mud at some point, but it was a lovely walk and even the intermittent rain could not put a damper on the fun. We had the place to ourselves as it does not seem to ever have any tourists. A couple of cows and some guinea fowl were the only company we had.

Games…

Swimming despite the rocks and rain…

Loads of rice….

It all made for a lovely day. We have only two boys in the Saturday group this year which is a disappointment, but on the other hand, the girls are loyal and so eager to participate and learn.

Please pray with us as I shall try to start off the process of re-registrating Gabriel as a Malagasy vessel this week. The first challenge would be to find the person who is suppose to deal with it. There is quite a high tide the first week of April and Dries thought that that might be the ideal time to take the boat out of the water. There is still a lot to prepare and at the moment he is struggling to find the right kind of wood that will be strong enough for the boat to rest on.

Have a blessed week.
