Madagaskar: Lynette se Weeklikse nuus 12 Maart 2023

The last two weeks seemed to fly by in record time. Preparation for school exams, Ranger meetings and Dries spending a lot of time on one of the boat engines contributed. He had some help at the end, with Thomas lending a hand with starting the outboard. Yes, Thomas is here for a three week visit and it was evident that he has matured a lot. He will return to England and continue to work and save some money until he will be sure what he wants to do. Coming back to Nosy Be and starting a business seems to be an option, as he appears to be very homesick.

I had spent a lot of time on this macramé bracelet merit which we started with the Saturday Rangers. What a process to find suitable string or anything suitable for that matter. I ended up colouring some white string with food colouring. At the same time, I am really not good with knots, but I am happy to say that I have improved. Thesi will be very proud of me as I was so ashamed at the Bundescamp proving myself to be totally rubbish at ropes and knots. So Thesi, there is yet hope for me for the next Bundescamp….

Dries and I did not expect the Rangers to be so excited about making bracelets. We noticed the classroom becoming dark and then only did we realise that we had gone way over time and that a storm was on its way.

It is rather special that these seemingly trivial activies provide so much joy to us as well as to the young people.

Have a blessed week.
