The man who does most of the foreigners’ visa applications, died earlier this week. Someone made the comment, ‘He was a good man, he did not steal so much.’ How about that as an epitaph on a grave stone? What makes it even more sad is the fact that he was a muslim. The muslim faith has grown on our island and the biggest expansion occurred over the last five years. Dries witnessed to a man who is helping him to find steam pipe to build the trailer to take Gabriel out of the water. The saddest thing is that their works based religion is also mixed up with ancestral worship which makes it particularly challenging. Please pray for Toto and that by sharing the Gospel with him, would bring him to salvation.
The two classroom floors are just about done and what a difference it makes! The coconut tree and mango tree where the new classroom will go, was also taken out. There is less than a month to go before school starts and we won’t finish in time, because the foundation will take longer than we initially thought, because of the slope.

Alice and I had the privilege to have been invited on a bicycle excursion around the island yesterday. My hairdresser friend, Valerie and her husband decided to start an e-bike business. We were part of the publicity before the launch. For you bike purists out there, don’t hold it against me, but I am convinced that e-bikes are definitely the way to go in the tropics.

My trip to South Africa has been finalised. A lot has to be done before I leave on the 16th of September. I also have to make time to study for the French exam. Somehow, the further I go into the language, the less I seem to know.
Have a blessed week.
