Sendingnuus uit Madagaskar: The Week 24 December 2023

Dec 24

The world has managed to remove the simplicity as well as the profundity from Christmas. It has been reduced to nothing but ‘Happy Holidays!’ It is about the party, not about the Person. The spirit of Christmas is for most nothing more than having a ‘party spirit’. So, what is the true spirit of Christmas?

Colossans 1:15-18

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

These verses show us the uniqueness of Jesus and therefore the reason why He should be worshipped. That is then the ultimate spirit of Christmas; to worship Christ, because He is the only one worthy of our worship. I pray that to be our focus this Christmas.

Dries and I have both been sick with flu. I can’t seem to shake off its effects even after two weeks. It was also an emotional week as we lost our dog, Landy. She died after being a faithful companion for sixteen years. Dries and I cannot get used to not having her around.

School has closed for the Christmas break. On Tuesday Dries and the guys will do the floor of the new classroom. After that will be completed, he needs to focus on what needs to be done before Gabriel gets taken out of the water.

Have a joyous Christmas and a blessed week.
