And then it rained…and rained some more…
Usually we have a week or two in February where is rains non-stop, but it came early this rainy season. There has been flooding on the island and Gabriel cannot be moved to its ‘parking spot’ before the weather clears, because of the mud. The weather forecast shows this to continue until Thursday.

Friday morning, the mission was to go and clean the hulls of the boat. When Gabriel came out of the water, those hulls looked like the ghost ship from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean. The barnacles and other creatures clinging to the hulls started to die and the smell was really bad. It was heavy going and we took turns. My contribution was negligible, but I made up for it with the picnic basket. Dries and Thomas also tried to seal some spots that leak, but that was difficult, because we worked in the rain most of the time.

Unfortunately, the work on the roof at school could also not continue due to the rain, but as Gabriel is now safe on land, we’ll focus on the school for the next few weeks.
Have a blessed week.
