Another school year almost ‘done and dusted’. It has been a completely different kind of year for the school and everyone had to adapt in a lot of ways. It was tough at first, but what looked initially to be impossible, God turned into the possible for His glory.
We had a ‘hat tea party’ for the Expedition and Adventure Rangers at home on Saturday afternoon. We decorated the roof (Dries had the unpleasant task of blowing up all those balloons), he baked the banana bread and I the chocolate cake and we both managed to get some kind of hat together for the occasion. Everyone joined in with dancing and singing and we all agreed that it was a gorgeous day. The cake and other goodies were eaten before I could say ‘Oh my hat…’ Dries and I laughed as he managed to get but a tiny piece of his banana bread.
Little Mitsiky provided a lot of entertainment
Shania (yes, believe it…teacher Yollande’s daughter) and Sitraka won best hat prizes.
The twins, Genita and Eugenie, won Ranger of the Year prizes as they never miss a Ranger meeting and their excitement about all things never ceases to amaze me.
Euphrasie and I had the best seats and enjoyed ourselves a lot
The Grade 5’s will write their national exam on Tuesday. Antonin, their teacher, put a lot of work in to help them out with extra classes and we believe that they are ready.
The planning for the Sea Explorers camp is in full swing. We’ll do the training with the leaders on Friday. There remains much to be done until Friday and the pace will become more frantic.
I am sure you are wondering what has been happening concerning Gabriel’s Malagasy registration. We have no further news about the ridiculous valuation and we decided not to spend all our time thinking about it. God is in control and we need to focus on doing what we are called to do. We praise our Father for all the people praying with us and for the financial support which we have received as a result of that. Thank you all for your love and care.
