THE WEEK–26/09/2021

“The bird has flown the nest.”

Thomas managed to get a place on a special flight to Paris and then  on to the UK.  He did his “last” taxi brousse trip to Antananarivo last week from where his flight departed yesterday evening.  He managed to spend some time with Alice and still had some documents to hand in to prove his Malagasy nationality in order to renew his Malagasy passport.  He was told because of his “very” English name and surname that he had to present proof of nationality.  There is always one more hurdle to overcome in Madagascar.  Well in the end all was well and he sent me a picture as he was waiting at the airport.  I noted the nervous smile and was reminded how God has provided and opened doors for this young man.  He will spend the next ten months in England with family.  He will then go on to study in Germany, so a lot of time will have to go into language study for now.  Please pray that he will also meet Christian friends, because he will need the encouragement and stay grounded in his faith.

Another prayer request is for Dries.  He needs to go for a hernia operation before his return to Madagascar.  This is unexpected, but I was not surprised, because he sometimes forgets the fact that he is 68 years old and continues to work at the pace of a much younger man.

My last request is for wisdom as Liaan offered to have a look at the land offered to the school.  We need to know if the land is big enough to accommodate a building that will meet our needs.  If it is financially viable and practically doable.

May you have a good week!
